Alex & Erin, When In Nepal, if possible post-earthquake, try getting to Langtang village, or what’s left of it. My first trek of four was to Langtang Pass, in fall of ’92 (I lived/taught ESL in Kathmandu for USIS in ’92-’93).. I hope there are surviving remnants of Langtang.
If you’re doing Ecuador, I’d offer suggestions from memories of my school yr. teaching ESL in Quito, ’94-’95; I spent many weeks in the Oriente, Sierra, and Costa.
